Then visit our cooperation meeting “Apulia meets Austria” at transport logistic 2023 in Munich! On May 10th, 2023, the curtain will be raised again for Austrian companies in the field of transport|logistics. In cooperation with the ITKAM Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany e.V., which is also responsible for Austria, and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, we organized a B2B coffee break senza confini (without borders) as part of the international trade fair for transport|logistics in Munich. Carinthia|Austria is an important logistics location and impresses with its central location in Europe. The Logistics Center Austria Süd, or LCA-Süd for short, is located in the border triangle of Austria, Italy and Slovenia, in the immediate vicinity of Villach, the second largest economic region in Carinthia, and directly on the A2 motorway. The logistics hub is located directly at the intersection of the Western-Alpine Balkan and the Baltic-Adriatic axis and covers a total area of over 160 hectares. The location offers an optimal connection to the northern Adriatic ports and the nearby Villach motorway junction ensures that Austria’s neighboring countries can be reached quickly. The ÖBB operates a large marshalling yard at the site, which serves as a hub for national and international freight traffic and offers, among other things, a weekday connection to selected Adriatic ports. In addition to this central marshalling yard, ÖBB also operates the transhipment station with its connected Cargo Combi Terminal as the basis for wagonload and combined load traffic (handling of containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers). With a strong network, the logistics country Austria has developed into an important international logistics hub with close connections to the northern Adriatic ports as well as to southern and northern Europe. Perfect infrastructure, leading companies and excellent R&D make Austria an ideal logistics location in Europe. The ease of exporting to Austria therefore makes it a top priority for Italian companies looking to expand their operations internationally. Apulia commands a strategic geographical position, in the south-east of Italy, at the heart of the Mediterranean Basin, and boasts a modern and efficient infrastructure network, where the logistics sector has become a driving force for economic growth and development across the region’s many industries. The regional logistics system comprises a strategic network of connections characterized by an ever more efficient intermodal transport plan of connecting roads, railway lines, seaports and airports, comprising: • Regional airport network: • 2 international airports (passenger/cargo): Bari and Brindisi; • 1 domestic airport: Foggia; • 1 industrial airport (cargo/RPAS testbed): Taranto – Grottaglie . Regional Port Network • 3 major ports (passenger/cargo/cruise terminal): Bari – Brindisi – Taranto • 6 minor ports (industrial/fishing): Barletta – Gallipoli – Manfredonia – Molfetta – Monopoli – Otranto • Intermodal traffic hub in Bari (Interporto Regionale della Puglia); • 12,000 km of road network that includes 2 major motorway arteries; • 1,528 km of railway lines. The aim of the event is to bring Austrian companies together with companies from Apulia, southern Italy, in an informal get-together and to initiate cross-border cooperation in the logistics sector. Be part of it! When: 10.5.2023 – 10:30 am CEST Where: Austria Pavilion A4.109|210, Munich Exhibition Grounds For organizational reasons, we ask you kindly to register by May 5th, 2023 at the latest!
